Hardware Device Process

Hardware Device Process

Process tool is a tool used to perform data processing on computer.

Here is a tool - a tool that processes exist on the computer:

a. processor

Processor is a chip that functions to control and process data on computer.

There are 2 brand processor broad-based Indonesian society are:

- Intel and

- AMD

For intel processor, there are several types of processsor namely:

- Intel 286, 386, 486

- Pentium MMX, II, III, IV, Celeron

- Pentium IV LGA, Dual Core, Core 2 Duo

- Pentium M, Centrino Duo, Atom, Atom Dual Core

- Quad Core, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7

As for the AMD processor, there are several types of processors:

- AMD K5, K6, K6-2, K7

- Duron, Athlon

- Sempron, Opteron, Athlon 64

- X2/fx Athlon 64, Turion, Phenom, Phenom II

b. motherboard

Motherboard is a parent board where all the components in the process instalkan tool.

The term stands on the motherboard:

AGP: Accelerated Graphics Port

PCI: Peripheral Component Interconect

BIOS: Basic Input Outpun System

CMOS: Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor

CNR: Communication Network Rise

ISA: Industry Standard Architecture

SATA: Serial Advanced Technology Attachment

IDE: Integrate Electronic Drive

To note is the motherboard for Intel and AMD processors are different. Because every motherboard made specifically for a particular processor. The components are generally present in a motherboard is as follows:

1. Ie the place where the processor socket processor paired.

2. Memory Slot is a place where the main memr paired.

3. Northbridge, serves to regulate the data traffic between the processor to the system memory.

4. Southbridge, serves to connect and control the input, output between the processor, RAM, storage devices and other peripherals.

5. PCI Express x16 slot, ie slot VGA card which can be installed the latest generation.

6. AGP slots are slots that are used specifically for VGA Card.

7. Batarai CMOS, which is a battery that is used to provide power to the BIOS.

8. SATA ports, the latest generation of interfaces that can be used to connect Hard Disk, Optical drive with a computer system.

9. Port SATA IDE ie before the technology has the same function as SATA.

10. Port Floppy Disk is the port used to connect a floppy disk with the motherboard drivers.

11. Power Port is the port used to provide power to the computer system.

c. RAM (Random Access Memory)

RAM is a volatile memory that is (temporarily) that helps to speed the execution of data processing. The higher the RAM are used the better the computet will run. Type - The type of RAM is as follows:

1. EDO RAM

RAM type was first created in 1995 has 72 pins with a clock speed of 50 MHz used in the Pentium 100.

2. SDRAM

SDRAM (Sychronous Dynamic Random Access Memory) is a type of RAM that is widely used in the Pentium II and III computers. Has 168 pins with speed PC66, PC100, PC133.

3. DDR RAM

Double Data Rate Random Access Memory is a type of RAM that is widely used in the Pentium IV. Has 184 pins with speed PC-1600, PC-2100, PC-2700, PC-3200, PC-3700, PC-4200.

4. DDR2 RAM

Double Data Rate 2Random Access Memory is a type of RAM that is used for Pentium Dual Core and Core 2 Duo. Has 240 pins with speed PC2-3200, PC2-4200, PC2-5300, PC2-6400, PC2-8500.

5. DDR3 RAM

Double Data Rate 3 Random Access Memory is a common type of RAM used directly on a quad-core Pentium, Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7. Has 240 pins with speed PC3-6400, PC3-8500, PC3-10666, PC3-12800, PC3-14500, PC3-16000, PC3-17000.

Then what is the difference between DDR RAM, DDR2 RAM and DDR3 RAM physically?

d. VGA

Video Graphics Adapter is functioning computer hardware for graphics processing on a computer. The higher the resolution of a VGA display, the better. VGA was first produced and marketed by IBM on yahun 1987.

e. Power Supply

Power Supply is a functioning computer hardware supply of electric power to the entire computer hardware components.
