Here is a storage medium that is often used on the computer.
a. disk
Floppy disk is a storage medium that is made of magnetic material.
Floppy disks have sizes: 8 inches, 5.25 inches and 3.5 inches. Disk capacity can be seen from the label, for example:
- DD (Double Density) for a 5:25-inch floppy disks have a capacity of 360 KB, and a 3:50-inch floppy disk has a capacity of 720 KB.
- DHD (High Density) Diskette capacity 1.2-inch size of 5.25 MB and 3.50-inch disk capacity to 1.4 MB.
- ED (Enhanced High Density) has a capacity of 2.8 MB. And has a size of 3:50 inches.
Density is the density in the higher density data store that is owned by a floppy disk, the greater the capacity owned.
b. Optical Disc
Optical disk is a storage medium that can hold data is usually large enough to use an optical disc storage media CD (Compact Disk) which has a storage capacity of about 700 MB and DVD (Digitasl Video Disc) has a storage capacity of about 4.7 GB.
c. Flashdisk
Flashdisk storage media which is very popular among the people today in addition to practical and easy to use flash can hold enough data larger than 512 MB, 1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB, 8 MB, 16 MB, 32 MB and still are evolving.
Flashdisk is a data storage medium that type of NAND flash memory has an integrated USB interface.
d. HDD
Hard disk drive is the primary storage media used in computers with very high capacity and non-volatile nature.
